Team
From ideas to planning and implementation: the Winter Universiade is supported by a versatile team responsible for making the largest multi-sport event for students a unique occasion.
For eleven days in Central Switzerland and the Grisons everything will revolve around the hosting of the 30th Winter Universiade. In addition to the organising committee, about 3800 volunteers will ensure that events at the eight venues operate smoothly. The volunteers will work in a diverse range of activities: supervising teams, printing results and helping with catering are just a few examples.
More than 3800 helpers will be in action in Central Switzerland and the Grisons.
In March 2016 the International University Sports Federation FISU accepted the bid submitted by the Association Winter Universiade Lucerne-Central Switzerland. Since then the continuously expanding organising committee, led by managing director Urs Hunkeler, has been working to make the second Universiade in Switzerland since 1962 a unique occasion. The organising committee is supported by the world federation FISU, and has an excellent working relationship with Swiss University Sports.
